The Howe Sound Inn & Brewing Company is tops on my list after a hike or ride in the Squamish area. It’s a combination of things really, amazing craft brews, friendly staff, a great vibe that seems to reflect the outdoor nature of Squamish. On one wall, a large 3m x 2m painting of the Chief and it’s popular climbing routes. A windsurfer (the board not the person) is suspended from the ceiling. The post and beam construction and big cathedral celing couldn’t be a better fit for the hungry and thirsty outdoor adventurer. But for me, it’s the vibe, it just has a good atmosphere. Some of the craft beer names include “Sky Pilot NW Pale Ale”, “Diamond Head Stout”, “Garibaldi Honey Pale Ale”. Mountaineers and hikers will recognize these names.

OK so that’s your apres hike / bike / back-country ski, what are you going to do first. Well that’s not too hard, there are a million options around Squamish, most are on trailpeak. Just use our search engine and place “Squamish” in the location field, and, a list will pop up with about 100 Squamish trails. Or, use our area map which shows everything on a google map and filter by activity. That link is here;

Classics like Elfin Lakes, Black Tusk, Cloudburst via Chance Creek, Ashlu - Elaho, Tricouni Peak, Star-Check Gorge (climbing), Cirque Lake (pic above) — these are some of the classic hikes but we have dozens more.

On the mountain biking side check out Alice Lake, Ring Creek Rip, Sea to Sky trail, Test of Metal stop in at Tantalus bike shop to get the latest.

So stay a while, the Inn is owned by the same group, and the rates are reasonable for a quality stay. Thanks Howe Sound Brewing!
