Last year, Trailpeak was in Fruita to check out the trails via the festival. While Kurt didn't make any group rides, he filled his days in the four main trail areas, all of them a good 30 minute drive from each other, and all of them spectacular.
Here are the trails mapped out by Kurt last year, it was a busy 4 days and a few major repairs were handled thanks to "Over the Edge" bike shop in town! Kurt is returning again, get in touch ith Kurt if you are going this year (use the contactus form at the very bottom of this site).
Visit www.mountainbikefruita.com for all the festival information, registration, and more.
Accomodation (Hotels) are a rip during the festival, so consider going before or after, or camping (*the campgrounds will be full, but camp 18 is amazing and free and right in Bookcliffs). The nice thing about the festival though, is that the bike vendors show up and you can demo bikes, and there's a small trade-show/main street scene of sorts. But the ride areas are so spread out, I never made it to any of the festivities or group rides - preferring to camp right up at Bookcliffes or in town.
One note: stay on all singletrack, keep singletrack single, and, be a good guest.
