Regarding trail Mt. Arrowsmith (Judges Route) near Port Alberni, BC

Hello everyone,

I was thinking about going up Mt. Arrowsmith in April. Although I am experienced, I'd love to have someone coming with me, maybe even someone who has already been on top.

Would anyone recommend/not recommend going up around this time of year? I am glad for any comments/thoughts!

< BR>I wouldn't go up on your own now. The snow line is very low. Only for people with plenty of winter climbing experience.

Just a note,
The RDN is doing some guided hikes in May/June/July. Attached below. However, they now require a hiking info session course before registering. About eight dollars. But should be fun!

See you at the peak!

Hi. I am planning on going to Mt. Cokely Summit this Sunday, May 3rd until May 5th, from Cameron Lake via the CPR Trail. I will set up a camp high on Cokely and summit on the same day or the next morning and the following day spend time on the shoulder between Cokely and Arrowsmith. Depending on snow, I might be able to get onto Arrowsmith Summit Ridge (probably not to the summit though). This year has been incredibly free of snow. I haven't been able to find snowline information on Cokely or Arrowsmith but I would guess it is well above 1000 meters, meaning 500 meters of snow to the summit, avalanche warnings are over right now and risk is low to medium. If you are interested, email me. cradau1@hotmail.com Take Care. Cole
