Natural with few ladders and a 80foot bridge takes you into the canopy . Down down down.
A mtn bikers small log cabin complete with ladders over top to drop you into the seating area for a break in the ride.
Flowing with fast lines and a couple of tough gaps as well as a few jump spots where you either jump or set your bike over. This is not a begginers course.
Big Bikes rule here
A natural flowing, with some big berms and a rock which depending on your expertise you can go big or not.
Freeway Bob is a fast section where you can go as fast as you dare. The trail is not that long and the locals use it as a shuttle trail, doing it as many times as four or five, depending on your tolerance of adrenaline.
The whole of Sumas Mtn. where this is located is full of mtn bike trails, which rock!!
"Knob Gobbler" (recently had it's ladders taken out) and now is more of a XC natural trail. It starts at the top of the Mtn. besides the telecommuncation tower. approx. 1 hour long.
"Noah Fear" twenty min approx. Starts just below the Time Killer another DH course.
TimeKiller has a new exit called "TimeOut"!
short ,windy and pretty. Cedar bridging, lovely lines with a log ride, till you go through a little wet area and exit right besides the waterfall,Bakstad parking area.
To get to the new exit:
Near the end of TimeKiller you come out to a logging slash.
- Short, it takes you onto a gravel logging road.
- Turn Left go approx. 250 feet on the gravel road, just before the creek.
- Look Right which is S. and enter this small trail.
- It goes down and winds its way under a beautiful canopy, get a little scrubby as it exits just above the waterfall.
- You are now at the BAKSTAD parking area.
Directions to Time Killer:
Sumas Mtn road take Batt. road up to
the first parking lot (has a gate which is locked after 9pm). We either ride up 45min by pig bike to the Time Killer and go in or take an hour twenty to go to the top to do Knob Gobbler, then go back up and finish on the Time Killer ...
Or we shuttle.
Time Killer exit is on Bakstad road which is just below the Batt. road parking lot. Note any sat/sun there are usually always riders, hook up with someone and this will make your first time experience of this mtn so much better.
Sumas can be a bit of a maze.
The locals are used to helping riders out, so don't be shy, it will be worth it.

Upsidefyi --NoahFear -starts W. side of access rd,just 200ft below locked gate (this locked gate will be moved asap and the road section has now been rebuilt.) The locked gate is actually a junction where KnobGobbler exits on the N.E. side of road. HolidaySauce starts just below E. side ,where you climb up this access rd (Taggert Peak) a couple of hundred feet and S. side is entrance. NFear starts on the W. side, look down into the ditch ,you will soon see a new bridge to take you into the NF.
DownsideA tough entrance ,this was to discourage motorcycles. The entrance will be redone before spring09. Comment This old trail only seems to improve with age. The optional log ride start has been rebuilt better,a small drop or roll down ,durioded . A new logging rd cuts through just before "potplant landing" just go across and right back in. A very steeep section takes you onto the huge logride "durioded" to roll down or drop . Small clearcut section here.. Go down the new ladder ,back into the canopy to exit onto a logging rd. Logging rd--R. takes you to 1 world cup ,continue along and TimeKiller midpoint. Lots of fun well worth doing mr.g

UpsideTimeKiller has seen some ugly scarring of logging. Freeway bob section has been wiped out,, so....... This section has been rebuilt ,though it will take some time before the clearcut looks better, though what a view... From the cabin a new trail go S. right from the cabin and down to the new road, across to the new trail Devil's Throat ( steeep entrance for now)go through the devils mouth and down ,fun. exits onto another new logging road ,across to WorldCup and down ,easy and fast bmxy. Exits just above TimeOut exit, which has a subdivision coming. TimeOut is just a couple of hundred feet W. of WorldCup exit. TimeOut exits onto Bakstad road (waterfall area) DownsideSome very aggressive logging has made for a lot of work, but it's being done.
CommentBig Sumas is in sweet shape, all trails are in good shape. fvmba.com has more info on this area. g

Upsidecabin is a nice touch. good spot to rest. pretty well groomed. nicely hidden from any other types of vehicles. Downsidewalkin'-hikin'-pushin'...but damn is it worth it!!! Commenti've been up to ride this trail twice now. first time i couldn't find the little hut, second time....we found it. it is so cool! this trail is an abosolute gem! it is s-o-o-o-o-o flowy!!! great little jumps and steeps. it was so fun to just giv'er and figure out how to ride without stopping every 5 minutes to scout out a line.(we all do it!)

Commenti'm going to try this trail this summer. i talked to the parksboard guy and he said that because of a washout on the access road, the gates will remain closed. probably for all of 2006. get your water chilled and your legs ready for a little hike-a-bike!

UpsideOne of my favorite courses, It is difficult, but even I can stay on my bike pretty much the whole time, and I am not that good. CommentHas the road up to Time Killer been reopened again. When I went up in the summer I was unable to shuttle due to the washout by the switchback before the big clear cut and view point.

UpsideLotsa good hits, groovy challenge, friendly locals This is important to find and maintain a steady course as its easy to get off course. DownsideToo much pedaling on a big hit bike (A quote by Richie "It's all about the slopes") CommentRide it all the time! Awsome!
