The Amisk Wuche (Cree for “Beaver Hills”) trail is an easy, pleasant and interesting hike inside Elk Island National Park, east of Edmonton. The trail offers views of many species of trees including aspen, spruce and birch. Boardwalks make for dry traversing through marshy spots along way.

Directions:

Find parking and the nearby trailhead at N53 40.729 W112 49.362, 14.4 km
north of Highway 16, just 400m north of the Astotin Lake Area turnoff.

Lots of ups and downs with some sharp turns. Downside Too short. Comment Great for cross country skiing, should be good for snowshoeing.
