Its a nice hike with a killer view of Hampton, and Darlings islands,
Its a fun climb. lots of bush wacking through the woods. But once there you will love it - good rock climbing and down hill skiing in the winter (Back Country).
good to get a topographic map of Sussex 21H/12 it will show you the mountain.
Once in Hampton go over the green bridge and park at Kredl's. Walk down the road on route 845 until you see a farmers field. Just before that you will see a road on the right. GPS N45*32.619 W065*50.967.
Hike under the fence and hike straight up the field until you can see Pickwacket Mountain. Walk until you hit a farm road. Go down that until you see a fork in the road. Stay left until you see a cabin. You will pass over a brook. Once you pass the brook, go right. From this point you will have to find your own route to the top of Pickwacket. Lots of bush wacking to get there.
Here is the gps coord for the top. N45*32.584 W065*51.863.

Upsidegreat hike with an amazing veiw, the cabin at the bottom makes for a great base camp and it was really neat to read the other entries in the cabin from other hikers. the trails you walk on are well groomed, well until the part where you have to b-line er to the top but was certainly well worth it i recommend this to anyone and plan on doing it again in the winter for even more of a challange Downsidethe only downside i would say is that in the description it says that this takes 9 hours and that is certainly not true it took me about 3 hours top with a lengthy break at the cabin Commentwonderful hike with and amazing few!
