The Gody Creek trails are of average technical difficulty and average physical difficulty. The trails follow Gody Creek down the mountain, crossing it several times on bridges. In the summer there is a nice swimming hole on the upper Gody trail. The trails have some intersections where other trails join, but don't worry, they all go down to the bottom. There is good construction and trails are well-maintained by the Merritt Mountain Biking Association.

Directions:

From the 7-11 in Merritt (intersection of Voght St. and Nicola St.) go down Nicola towards Kelowna. Nearing the edge of town, turn right onto Coldwater Road. You go by some farms and stuff. Then turn left onto Fox Farm Rd. This road goes right to the trailhead. However, you must park at the cattle guard, where the road turns from paved to dirt. From there, bike up the road for 10-15 minutes looking to your left for the trailheads. Upper Gody is marked with a scarf and the normal Gody trail is marked with some ribbons. Both trails join further down so it doesn't matter which you take. You come out of a culvert and go up a little trail onto a road near the highway. You can either go down this road, turn left and then left onto Coldwater and get your car, or arrange a shuttle.

By RobbaPosted By: Robba  - Fri Aug 19 05:05:47 UTC 2011 Not Rated Question Hi-
Anyone have suggestions on a good camping spot where we might be able to bike to some good riding? If we could fish around the area that would be a bonus!

Also, any must-do trails?

Thanks in advance for any info
Rob
