This is an easy hike around Heald Pond. The trail starts out to the right of the parking lot and continues on the Pond Trail. The trail is marked very nicely with yellow blazes. You will see the first marker directly across from the small parking area. The trail is very flat most of the way. This would be a great trail to introduce snowshoeing, cross country skiing or just the wonders of the great outdoors to children. It is well traveled and well packed most of the time. You will walk along the ponds edge and come to a couple footbridges. Next you will come to an abandoned farm. Along the way you will see Laurel, Red Maple, Birch Trees, stone walls and of course the pond.

Directions:

Take route 31 south in Wilton, NH. Once on route 31 go about 2 1/2 miles, turn right onto King Brook Road. Go about .9 mile and turn left onto Kimball Hill road. Right away take a right onto Heald Road. You will see a very small parking area after .3 mile. You will park at the second opening after the sign for the Heald Tract Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests on the right
