This section of the North Saskatchewan River is an excellent 3-day family trip. I did it on August long weekend with my boyfriend's family. The river is wide, with a moderate current and has many channels and small sandy islands through this section.

Directions:

From Saskatoon Drive on Hiway 16 west until you reach the town of Maymont, Turn left (South) down secondary hiway 376 (through the town of Maymont) and drive until just before the Maymont bridge (~7km). At the base of the bridge is a regional park should you want to camp there overnight, otherwise it is an excellent place to put in a canoe.
