< BR> Just came back from EGP. Will share a detailed write-up on westkooteayhiking in a few days, but for now I'll say it's a really tough trail! Much of the deadfall was cleared by BC Parks, but still a lot of overgrowth in sections. Pushing your way through alder and devils club and stinging nettle! Many sketchy log crossings. Lots of up and down and tough stepping. Would not want to do the Hamill Creek sections in wet conditions! Would only recommend for experienced backpackers who don't mind a bit of suffering.
An option for maximum views and minimal suffering would be to hike in/out from the East side and skip the long Hamill Creek trail on the West side.
