Hello just wondering if it's a good idea to bring a dog on this hike?

< BR>Yes/No.

All of the hike up to one large boulder part is perfect for dogs. The incline is quite steep but dogs will manage fine. Be sure that yours can handle at least 10km horizontal (both ways) and quite a bit of incline (1.5km vertical each way?)

That boulder part I'm referencing is fairly small and you can likely lift your dog up onto each one (each only slightly larger than 1m in height). It only lasts for maybe 2-3 minutes if you're quick and you can swing wide and still come back to the trail (FOLLOW THE MARKERS!).

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT try the final scree slide with a dog. They will break an ankle and you will not make it to the knife's edge. There is no way around and no way to get there outside of climbing a pure cliff face. Even climbing yourself is dangerous but dogs are ill equipped for the sliding rocks.

< BR>You can definitely go up to the helicopter pad. After it depends if your dog is okay with scree slopes. Final scramble is not for dogs.
Cheers
