is there any trails for beginners? if not, does anybody know if there are any trails in maple ridge area for just basic trail riding?

there are ride arounds for most of the stunts, even on gold or giant killer (if I remember, but it has been a while since I've been). On most DH runs in most places, there are ride-arounds, and usually some simple ladders to start.

Bear Mtn is nearby and also easier to take, surf that up on trailpeak, and, of course, there is Sumas Mtn not that far away with good options. Just list all the trails and order by town, inspecting the ones closest to abbotsford, maple ridge, mission, etc. Abbey trails (the ones still open) may also be a good option.

If you want really gentle, take a look at the bike trails added by user "urban trekker" but I suspect you want the easier freeride.
