Hi,

Where did you camp along the trail? Are there designated places or are you allowed to camp where you can find a spot? Thanks kindly.

Jacqueline

Hi Jacqueline

First of all, sorry for the delay getting back to you. There are no designated camping spots between Inverness and Port Hastings on the Trans Canada Trail (TCT) so you‘ll just have to find your own.

We camped behind the Firehall in Mabou; in someone‘s backyard in Port Hood; and in a field near Creignish overlooking Canso Strait and the Gulf of St Lawrence. If you camp in someone‘s yard, you should probably ask permission first.

If you‘re interested, send me your email address and send you a copy of the TCT Trail Guide for Port Hastings to Inverness. It was published prior to 2009 so it‘s out of date but it‘s still useful because it provides information about the towns and points of interest along the trail.

Happy Trails!

< BR>Hi,

Thank you very much for your reply. We were thinking of biking it but wanted two stop overs to explore areas and see the sights, take our time at about 30 or so km per day. I didn't think there was designated camping areas but just wanted to make sure. We surely would not camp on any ones property without permission. Thanks again and have a great day!

Jacqueline
