Canadore College's and Nipissing University's main campus is situated on over 700 acres of forested land overlooking the city of North Bay. The vast trail system and scenic pond are located just behind the school.
Take nothing but photographs; leave nothing but footprints as you enjoy 12 km of trails and 700 acres of nature in the picturesque trails offered behind Canadore College’s Education Centre.
The 12 trails offered include: EAST DUCHESNAY FALLS TRAIL, NORTH DUCHESNAY SUMMIT TRAIL, WEST DUCHESNAY FALLS TRAIL, MAPLE TRAIL, BAKER TRAIL, KEEZIK TRAIL, RIGOR MORTIS TRAIL, YELLOW BIRCH PASS TRAIL, RED OAK TRAIL, LOOKOUT TRAIL, STEPPING STONES TRAIL and SOUTH DUCHESNY VALLEY TRAIL. Walking time from the College to Lake Nipissing Lookout (1 km) is 20 minutes and from the College to Duchesnay Creek (2 km) is 44 minutes. Be aware that the upper bridge on WEST DUCHESNAY FALLS TRAIL has been removed from service. For more information see www.friendsofduchesnayfalls.com
Take HW-17 West to Nipissing University / Canadore College. Find the Education Center, behind it is a pond / dam with trail access around it. Cross that and you will find the first sign, depicting all the trails. Trails may also be accessed from parking lot 2 min. west of the hospital on hwy 17 Trail head sign on west side of parling lot.
