The three trails forms this loop. The loop is well groomed, mostly flat and is good for beginners. Because the loop is just beside the town, it is a busy XC ski route in winter. The mountain view is spectacular.
besides the loop, skiers can also XC ski across the famous lake and go further to six glacier trail. Of course, that is not groomed and there are only skier made tracks.
From Calgary drive Hwy #1 west to the Lake Louise turnoff. Turn left, across the highway overpass and follow the signs to the Chateau Lake Louise. Approximately 1 km before reaching the Chateau, turn left onto the Moraine Lake road. The parking area is immediately ahead.

UpsideElevation gain is slow and steady on the way up and the loop down Fairview and Moraine Lake Rd is a lot of fun! Tracks were in excellent conditions. DownsideTramline and Lake Trail were really busy. CommentWe started at the parking lot by the Lake Louise Railway Station & Restaurant on Sentinel Road. We went all the way up Tramline (3, easy) and took the Lake Trail (4, easy) to the end of Lake Louise. We went down Fairview Trail (mostly easy, some more difficult slopes) until we reached Moraine Lake Road. We went down to the Tramline junction and took the same trail back to the parking lot. We loved it, views of Temple on Fairview are interesting and the descent is endless and fun!
