The Sluice Box trail is a moderate trail with some difficult parts ( steep climbing). The elevation is about 400 metres. On the top it has two branches. The right one will lead you to the picnic area with a beautiful view of the valley and the Portland Canal. The left one was brushed off this year and will take you to the amazing waterfall and a little bench.
Start the trail by the garbage dump at the enterance to Stewart. From highway heading into Stewart turn left just before the bridge over the Bear River. Park on the left before the other bridge over the creek. Cross the creek and turn left onto the pass. The trail head will be just around the corner.
