Nice easy trail except for a couple of very steep sections. Great fishing. Catch and release only!
Kakwa Wildland Park is a remote,rugged place of incredible beautywith tree-carpeted valleys, swift clearcreeks and high mountain ridges. Thepark was established in 1996 and isapproximately 650 square kilometresin size.
Kakwa Wildland Park is 160 kilometressouthwest of Grande Prairie. For travel beyond Lick Creek (roughly 10kilometres from the park’s northernboundary) a four-wheel drive vehicle is essential. Visitors should check aheadwith Alberta Parks in Grande Prairie to confirm road conditions.
Grande Prairie – go south on Hwy.
40 then west on Hwy. 666.
Grovedale – road is paved for
approximately 16 kilometres
beyond Grovedale; from there, it
is a maintained gravel road used
heavily by industry.
Hairpin turn at bottom of hill you will see and old road going straight through some over grown alders it will open up then park, trail begins here.
