The first section is in the forest, with very limited view. The trail is well maintained thought. At 3km, reach a very popular junction, keep rigth will bring you to the ink pots where you have an extensive view. Another 10 km in the forest brings you to a well signed fork where you finish your assent towards the campground. The lake is worthed!
Be aware that, after the intensive rain period in 2013, that a portion of the train as been washed out. The park has built an alternative path in the wood. Look for it on your right, at about kilometer 15.
Park at Moose meadows parking lot, unless you want to through a crowd of people in Johnston canyon. It's big enough for every one, but there is no outhouse
