This well shaded and scenic trail loops around Holland Creek, with views of various small waterfalls and dams. Half the trail is a wider single track, and half is a lightly gravelled pathway (about 5 feet wide). The map lists the loop at 5.8 kms, but it is more like 6.5 km (excluding the section east of the Trans-Canada highway. Altitude gain is approximately 200 metres for the entire loop, but no single hill is likely over 10 metres high. A few stairs and switchbacks might have you walking your mountain bike, but the vast majority of it can be ridden by even lightly experienced riders.
Note that the west end of the trail has a connector to the Heart Lake trail.
The trail is located in Ladysmith. The three major trail heads are Methuen @ Sixth Ave; Dogwood Drive; and just off Mackie Road. The entrance off of Mackie is a bit hidden, so watch carefully for it.
