OK, you asked for an epic, this is it. Over 20km of ups and downs (once you add in the access and egress) through stunning alpine meadows, over rocky passes and down the side of waterfalls and rivers and past a huge cave you can go right inside to a waterfall at the back. This is a hiking trail that is about 75% bikeable, the rest hike a bike including a ladder section that is totally doable (lowering your bike). Be aware - you are way out there. There are rescues on this trail every year and there is pretty much no cell coverage. You need a pack for a full day out, including first aid, warm layers, food and water and some means of communications. Bear spray is a must. Make sure someone in town knows where you've gone and to call for help if you don't show back in town. If you do it as a loop starting and ending in town it's about 50km
As a biker the best way is to go up to Island Lake Lodge (ride up Lazy Lizard for a big day out), then turn onto the tamarack trail which is going to climb up onto your first summit. The end of tamarack is hike a bike. The trail at the other end kicks you out onto the Mountain Lakes Trail connector and then onto Hartley Lake Road which is a 10km gravel road back to Dicken and then a further 5km or so into town. It's a big day out!
