Terra Cotta Lane used to be an old service road back when Terra Cotta Conservation Area was a recreational facility with campgrounds. It a wide, multipurpose trail with gentle slopes and ideal for the beginner cross-country skier, snowshoer, or anyone who would like a quick, pleasant adventure through a forest on the Niagara Escarpment. This trail is groomed, track set and maintained throughout the winter season, conditions permitting.
We ask visitors to be aware of where the tracks are set and avoid stepping in them if you are not skiing on them.
From the main parking lot, travel west to the parking lot kiosk. There is a footpath that leads to the main access point of Terra Cotta lane. You will need to cross a service road so it is suggested to put on your skis or snowshoes after you cross the road. Please obey all trail signs and directions given by Conservation Area staff.
