This is an easy trail along the lakeshore, with nice views of the lower lake and surrounding Rocky Mountains.

The 1.5km Marsh Loop is at the South end of the trail and (at least today in Winter) was a very nice addition to the walk.

NTS Map: 082J11
Elevation Gain: 30 m (98 ft)

Directions:

Park at the Lower Lake day use area and follow the trail as far as you want. Return the same way.

Alternately you can start from the Canyon parking area and walk the trail from N to South and back. The trailhead is at the East edge of the parking lot.

We did this a snowshoe trip on Jan. 25, 2008. It was great day for winter walk. Clear blue sky and sun Downside Wind from the lake Comment We did hear water gurgling under the ice.
