Terrace Trail is an easy snowshoeing / hiking / mtn biking trail which starts at Kananaskis Village and ends at the junction with the Galatea Creek Trail (or vice versa). The trail follows a terrace at the base of Mt. Kidd, above the Kananaskis River as it winds through the Kananaskis Golf Course. The left photo is Mt. Kidd. If mtn biking, this trail can become a loop by crossing the Kananaskis river at the Galatea Creek Trail and returning to the village via the highway.
Alternate to return biking on highway is use road for just 3 km to Wedgepond, then return via the Bill Milne paved pathway. It can be busy but it's much more pleasant than the road. This route is ride #24 in Doug Eastcott's "Back Country Biking in the Canadian Rockies""
Note - time and distance are one way. Time will vary with activity.

The trail starts by the hockey rink at Kananaskis Village. Follow the signs.

UpsideEasy trail DownsideCan be busy CommentIf riding combine it with Bill Milne paved path from the Wedgepond to make a loop. That means you only have to do 3km of road

UpsideThis would be a short fun ride if it didn't have 6"-1' of snow in anywhere the trail goes into the shade! CommentNext time I should wait until later in the year to mountain bike in K-Country (rode this in early May 2010)!

Upsidecould use an edit button to fix my mistakes.... Commentfrom the pond there is a very short trail leading back to the highway and into the RV park. on this trail is where we saw a very large cougar. The cat crossed our path and as we all stopped (all 8 of us) to get a good look at it, it stopped, turned it's head and checked us out. What a sight to see.

UpsideGood fun for the beginner, the hardest part is riding up to the village. DownsideNone CommentFrom Mt Kidd RV past the golf course up to the village. The trail past the hockey rink and off we went. From Galatea creek up to the highway and a quick stop at...I can never remember the name of the pond/lake on the east side

UpsideMountain biking: Nice rolling route, turns into decent singletrack. Easy access, free parking at the Ribbon Creek lot. DownsideNot for the hardcore. Not real long & pretty flat in the big picture (but can be combined with Kovach for a climb). Popular with tourists out for a hike. CommentIt was a good day.
