Real rooty, needs to be cleaned up a bit, but fun and fast just the same.

Directions:

Go up Coast Meridian 'till you see the sign for the gun club. Follow that road up till the first left hair pin, the trail head is at the apex.

It's long with great variety - roots, rocks, mud, flow, woodwork. Downside It needs some serious maintenance. I rode it at the peak of salmonberry season and it was very overgrown in places. Only saw one bear, near the bottom.

Lots of fun tricky stuff if you wish, both manmade and natural, but also very safe for beginner riders. Great place for beginners to build their skills at more technical riding. On a side note, Lower Galloway ends right beside the trail head for Flywheel. Downside The road work getting from the bottom to the trailhead kills my inner-child, but if you're shuttling this is a fun ride to do a few times over. Comment Uploaded GPS data assumes you'll park at either the lower street parking on Victoria or the upper street parking on Coast Meridian since there is no parking on the dirt road where the access trail begins.

By holysmkPosted By: holysmk  - Mon Jan 30 16:05:36 UTC 2006 Not Rated Downside Very overgrown in sections. Needs a chainsaw. Comment Some of the pics of this trail in this posting actually look like Galloway (logride).

Did Galloway and Flywheel yesterday. Galloway in good shape. Flywheel overgrown quite heavily in spots with some fallen trees. Flywheel is not really passable after the first 500m, few hundred meters just past where it meets up with Galloway.
