Entering it you go up down and around, till coming out onto a double track,go the only way you can West for a couple hundred feet ,then L. back in till you finally come out onto the access road. Go fifty feet and then E. into the woods again, and into the trail this is now the ExtraSauce.
You now litterally stay in the trail till going across a doubletrack ,which means your now into the EmmaPeel,
down till finally coming out onto a clearcut.
A ladder drops you down, this is to stop motorcycles and horses from destroying this loamy trail.
The clearcut clearly takes you out 75ft to a R. back into the canopy, soon you are out onto a acess road where 75ft on the R. hand side South is the acess road, you are just above the lower gate (locked by the city of abbotsford at night)
lots of signage now and maps at local bikeshops by www.fvmba.com are all gpsed.
g
Downside More logging coming this spring on the EmmaPeel but the woodlot owner has been very good to us and we recognize his right to log his property. Once done we will be back there so fast putting the love to the area ,it will recover.
g
Comment info??www.fvmba.com
look under trails Sumas lots of up to date info.
g
TimeOut has been decommissioned,a new replacement trail
called get this
NoTimeOut, due to the small amount of climbing to get back to the access Forest service road.
Beauty of a bridge 150ft long ,you will now exit above the lower locked at night gate.
This is for riders or hikers who come out of TimeKiller or chadsey trail.
Enterance E. of TimeOut go up the hill 250ft enter a old quad trail as it heads down, taped and signage should show you the way.
hint when you see the sign saying "Dogs ahead' the tape should show you the turn to the L ,which is E. out,no getting lost after that.

The blue applies to the technical features, not the cardio difficulty. See IMBA for rating method. Bring you armour if you aren't comfortable with this.
By Mr.GPosted By: Mr.G  - Mon Apr 11 23:12:27 UTC 2011 Not Rated Upside Just keeps getting longer and better Downside big bike ,not a lot of fun due to some climbing.
Small or mid size bike or your just a god, total fun.
Comment HolidaySauce has seen lot of work redoing sections.
You now stay in HS till you finally come out onto the fireroad.
go down 50ft Left in and you now enter ExtraSauce.
You will stay in singletrack winding up down around till finally coming out , onto a doubletrack ,right across into the EmmaPeel . A lot of new sections in here but it's all good.
No longer a maze, and killer climbs have been replaced by windage. You will finally come out into a clear cut ,the trail goes straight into the bush again till you finally come out at the bottom..Whew!
From the bottom to the top you enter the
KnobGobbler exit onto the fireroad(a gate used to be here till it was torched)go down twenty feet,go back into E. side and up 150ft you enter HolidaySauce .
One hour up on the fireroad,
A hour and a half down all legal singletrack.
Maps gpsed at all local bike shops really help.
The XC side is no longer the maze it once was.
All trails have seen the legalization and love.
enjoy it's well worth it.

SUMAS MTN rule of thumb here,------- E. side XC trails ------ ---W. Freeridish. bigbikes at home.
Holiday Sauce continues to get the love, bettering this trail.
at the exit onto the road, fifty feet down E. side back in
XtraSauce here, redone with more flow, windage supreme .
So natural with some climbing but with the recent buffing this trail just get better. One short spur junction midpoint which returns back onto XtraSauce. So natural and fast in here. The access road corner takes you back into the Prepeel with it's newly redone climb section till you exit onto a double track down ,watch the S. side for another double track back ,ride S. up this double track till it goes into the trail again. (if you miss this turn you end up back on the access road at a yellow gate)
Emma Peel has had some logging in the middle but it's all been redone and is sweet. Another new section (due to logging) has been redone as you continue the windage down.
Signs have been posted ,but souvenier hunters continue to amass their collections.
Downside Continues to be a maze, but once figured out well worth it.
Bring a camera.
Comment Just so many more choices for riders and hikers to get out in the forest and see the beauty of this area,we call Sumas Mtn.
From gentle brown salamanders (don't pick them up with your salty hands) to mtn beavers on the NoahFear and the Knob. Not to mention the family of Turkey vultures who's number continue to climb. What a great place to come out and recreate.
BC and the lower mainland has it all.
Once legalized and it's coming maps will be posted.

Now get out there

Some hard pedal work , but worth it.
I ride it on my pig bike with the seat up.
NOTE , holiday sauce ,twice you come out onto a 4wheel double track road.
Turn R. go for a short ways ,keeping a lookout for the L. turn back into the singletrack.
A new section " EXTRA SAUCE" just keeps the flow going, till you finally shoot out onto the road.
go a couple hundred feet turn back in to a 4wheel drive road, and immediately turn R. and back in.
Downside Signage has been added, but it still takes a while to piece it all together.
Motorcycles have been chewing some sections up, that's why the exits now have a drop at the ends and starts,as well as some windage added to discourage motorized bikes.
Comment Any bike will love the loop.
Top of Sumas
KnobGobbler to exit and then into Holiday sauce/extra sauce/prepeel/emmaPeel a XC dream and a place where those on big bikes who are strong will have a very flowy experience.
natural sweetness.
Just about any sat/sun riders group up at the bottom of Bakstad road ,and see who will shuttle b for them.
XC guys ride from the lower unlocked gate to KG and down to the gate.
Note 2/3 up gate locked, just ride around.
