A very steady climb up about 800 meters. The trail becomes more of a "general direction" once you break out of the trees, but just follow the ridge up. It's a rocky hike and once you reach the ridge, its a scramble with great views all around of the valley, Abraham's lake and the levels of mountains. The view can be lessened by fires occassionally.
Turn right off highway 11 when you are headed west. It's about 2 km's off the highway, leave the highway when you see the Cline's waste dump. Park there and the trail is off to the right of the road up a small gravel rise. Follow the fence for 50 meters and then the trail begins to climb.

UpsideGood views at the top with a possible ridge walk. DownsideBoring 800m slog CommentIt's a solid workout but a waste of a day if you're looking to complete a worthwhile peak especially with the options in the area.

UpsideOnce on top you can keep going and going and going forever! Amazing views and great fun. DownsideFirst official trek was boring and relentless CommentLong boring stretch to the first peak. Then go a bit further to the second, the summit, the real top. This took only 2 hours. BORING! So I decided I would continue and follow the ridgeline. This was awesome! It was exciting, I made my own path there, heck this was my first Ridgeline hike. I followed it for 3 more hours and got to a cool valley and a fork in the road (ridge). Got the point where I had to turn back due to time but I could have kept going either left or right for many more hours. This was fun! It was difficult and dangerous, but I like a good challenge, and a good rock climb.

UpsideGreat view for a short hike. A good workout (straight up). CommentPretty sure it's 5km, not 5hours (as the first guy wrote). We climbed up the next peak which was nice too.

UpsideGreat view from top. Close to highway and easy to access. DownsideLots of loose rocks on trail and very steep in some areas. CommentHad a great time climbing this one, but it really gave me a workout. If you go further up it get very difficult.

UpsideA great short steep hike. I did in November last time. The ridge is windblown most of the time so this hike is doable year around.
