This trail can be accessed from a short way along Middle PowerSmart, or from the top of upper Skookum, and provides some sweet flowing switch backs at a moderate level of difficulty.
From the Ring Creek North FSR, ride up upper Skookum. Turn left down PowerSmart, then left again onto the start of IMBA Smart.
At the bottom, turn left on the FSR then continue along lower Skookum. This can be connected for additional moderate drops to upper and lower Pseudo Tsuga, and finished with Flat Alley.
This description describes a moderate loop that starts and ends at the Carpenter's Son Bridge car park on the Garibaldi Park Road
A short way north of Squamish, turn east off Hwy 99 at Mamquam Road (Canadian Tire). At the end the road becomes a dirt road called the Garibaldi Park Road. Follow this along a few kilometres until a hiking trail crosses the road, with space for parking on the right.
Ride your bikes a few kilometres further up the road taking the second forest service road (Ring Creek North FSR) on the left. Pass the SORCA shelter until you reach a sharp right hand switch back. Take the Skookum trail left from the corner, dropping steeply down for 100m, then crossing a high ropped log then up to another FSR. Stay right on the FSR at the top, and take the upper Skookum trail on your right.
