This double track trail leads to a beautiful wilderness lake accessible from downtown Whitehorse. A long bike ride with a fishing rod may very well pay off.
From the road the trail descends immediately to a fork. Stay left and continue downhill watching for loose grave patches. Stay on the main trail as there are many intersecting smaller trails. Within 1km the trail comes to a fork. Turn left.
At the next significant fork (about 2km away) turn left and go down a steep hill with some gravel patches. Less than a km away is a small creek crossing. After another 2km the trail starts to descend down a long steep hill with loose gravel patches. As the main trail continues beyond the bottom of the hill it forks several times but rejoin into the same trail.
To follow a more scenic route take the second right fork which follows a ridge with a view of a valley on the right. Further on there are some minor muddy sections. Upon reaching the lake continue to the right along a short trail close to the shore which leads to a gravelly beach and nice picnicking area.
From the SS Klondike cross the Yukon River bridge onto lewes Blvd. At the lights turn left onto Alsek Rd. Take the second left to Grey Mountain Rd. You will pass the Whitehorse Archery Club and Rifle Range on the left. At 5.7km along the road you will be at the trailhead.
