22 kilometre loop in the Edmonton River Valley. Three 50+ metre ascents. Mostly asphalt trail with gravel or dirt sidetrails for off-roading.

Directions:

I usually start on Saskatchewan Drive, but you could start anywhere along the trail. The trail has several road accesses along its length.

Edmonton City provides a Cycle trail map which shows trails on both sides of the river from Terwilliger park to Strathcona Science park and beyond.

You can ride more dirt then pavement if you want. Depending on your line choice, there are fun descents and flowy areas, not particularly long but not bad for a city river valley. Downside have not yet found a lot of technical lines.

You can get all the way to the Stratchcona refinery. Edmonton has way less wind than Calgary. Downside It's a city path shared facility. I couldn't find a trail on the south side that looped around the refinery. Comment Going further east towards Rundle Park there are two pedestrian bridges at either end of Rundle Park.

It's a shared path with other users. Climbing stairs on occasion with bike is hard on the arms. Comment It can be as long of short as you like. I've started at Terwilliger to make a longer loop I believe it can be as long as 60km
