This former du Pont property is a fine example of the Piedmont Plateau Region in the middle of the Northeast Corridor. Walking along this trail, which is blazed red on metal posts, you will see some of the scenic beauty of this region. A sharp descent down from the Nature Center to the Brandywine Creek along with some remains of past geologic changes (i.e. big boulders) will make this an adventurous hour in the woods.
Take I-95 to exit 8 and follow US-202 N to intersection of State Highway 92. Make a left at the light and make another left onto State Highway 92 (Thompsons Bridge Road). Make a left at the intersection of State Highway 92 (Thompsons Bridge Road) and State Highway 100 (Adams Dam Road) and make another left at the park entrance. Follow the service road to the Nature Center and park in that lot. This red blazed trail, which is marked on posts, can be found to the right of the Nature Center.
