This is an easy hike through the northern portion of the Ningret Wildlife Refuge. At the end of the Burlingame Trail a lookout tower is being completed that will allow vistas of Block Island Sound. Dogs are permitted on half the trails that are clearly marked. There is a Visitor's Center that offers exhibits on salt ponds and a movie on the importance of our wetlands. A small gift shop is present with guidebooks and there are facilities inside. Trail maps are located at the main trailhead.

Directions:

Route 1 to Charlestown R.I. The visitor's center is clearly marked by a brown NWR sign. The entrance is on the north side of route 1.
