Lands End is one of the best paddling spots in New England. It is also one of the most dangerous. There are basically no safe spots for landings once you get to the point. To get there either launch off of First Beach, or Kings Beach in Newport and paddle out to the end of the Cliff Walk. Looking back towards shore you will see some of the largest mansions in the US as well as a beautiful cliff line. On the water are great rock gardens and some great hidden surf spots. This is not a place for beginners. Kayaks have been destroyed, people have drowned, and the surf can get rough enough to take out parts of the Cliff Walk. Wear protection, bring a friend, and watch your back as these rock gardens are not to be handled lightly.
Paddle South from First Beach, or East from Kings Beach
