A Classic Pine Barren Forest minutes from Downtown Plymouth
Trail is maintained by the Wildlands Trust and features a scenic view of a true Pine Barrens forest located near Myles Standish State Park. Terrain is rolling with a really nice section of an old pine forest around one of the bends. Pay attention to the view for at times you can see into bowls created by the terrain. Easy hike takes about 30 minutes at a moderate pace longer if you go for the scenic.
Halfway Pond lies on the western edge ofthe loop trail and offers some great photo ops.
Access to This trail can be found off of Rt. 3 Exit 5 Head West on Long Pond Road, Stop in at the Shoppes at 5 EMS for any supplies and then continue down Long Pond Road until you reach Mast Road across from a golf course head down Mast Road (Warning, Road is packed dirt and sand take it slow and watch for Horses!!!) Head down this road for about 10 minutes until you see the Girl Scout camp on you left, Parking lot for the trail is about 1/2 mile on the right, parking is sunrise to sunset max 4 vehicles.
