A great day hike/trail run in the middle of Hopkinton. There is also no charge for parking. Although it is in a suburban area, and there are houses all around, it is still nice for a quick getaway. Moderate trail, almost no hills and a view of the reservoir for the whole hike. Although I thought it was best for a trail run, it also makes a great day hike if you can't get all the way up to NH or Maine.
The parking lot/boat launch is right off rt. 135 in Woodville, MA., about 5 miles from Hopkinton State Park. From Rt. 85, go left (northbound) onto rt. 135 or right (southbound). There is a large sign for Whitehall State Park.
