Council Rock sits atop Bare Hill commemorating the Seneca Indian history of this site. A hike to the top of this grass-covered hill (as its name implies) provides a panoramic view of Canandaigua Lake below.
A map, trail description, and history for this hill can be found in the guidebook "Take A Hike - Family Walks in New York's Finger Lakes Region" available through EMS.
From Canandaigua, head south on Route 364. Turn right onto Town Line Road, left onto Bare Hill Road, and right onto Van Epps Road. Park at the end of Van Epps Road.
