The site of an old iron ore mine has some of the nicest trails outside of the big

state parks in New Castle County. The Blue Blazed Mason-Dixon trail runs across

the park from the Iron Hill Museum on Old Baltimore Pike to Welsh Tract Church

Road. Take the Yellow Blazed trail to get around the high point at the park which

is around 320 feet. If you are lucky, you may find some ore deposits along the

trail.

Directions:

Take Exit 1 on I-95. You want to take DE 896 South and turn right at the light

for Old Baltimore Pike. A mile on the right you will find the parking lot for the Iron

Hill Museum and you can park in the lot.
