This is a great area to explore while on the Outer Cape Depending on time available and skill level you can do a leisurely tour through some great marshland habitats or paddle out to areas of Coast Guard beach that few people go to. The inlet to the ocean is a great place to play in if you have a sea kayak as the currents going in and out can be very strong. Guided tours are available through various groups including the rangers of Cape Cod National Seashore. The marsh can be difficult to navigate at low tide, with large areas becoming mud flats.

Directions:

Nauset Marsh can be accessed from Town Cove in Orleans or Salt Pond in Eastham.
