Ethan Allen Park is one of several Burlington municipal parks. It's small at 67 acres, but has a variety of activities that can fill a day or just a few hours.
Biking: The Burlington bike path, a paved trail, goes through a considerable section of the park. Where the path turns, one can continue up a paved road to the "Pinnacle", a large field with a gazebo that hosts views of the valley, lake and Adirondack mountains. Many of the dirt trails are open to mountain biking, but many illegal trails have been established as well. Please stay off of the unauthorized trails, as many of these go through rare species area and create considerable amounts of erosion.
Hiking: Many trails, paved and dirt, criss cross the park. Most of the walking is very casual and can be done in sandals or sneakers.
Climbing: There are many large boulders and a section of 50 foot cliffs to be climbed. The area is a popular after work destination for local boulderers.
Follow North Ave/Route 7 north out of Burlington city center.
