The Metacomet-Monadnock Trail (M-M Trail) is a long distance hiking footpath, maintained by the Appalachian Mountain Club-Berkshire Chapter Trails Committee and other volunteers. It is approximately 114 miles from the blue-blazed Metacomet Trail on the Connecticut state line to Mt. Monadnock in New Hampshire.

The Metacomet-Monadnock Trail starts at the Massachusetts/Connecticut State line at Rising Corner in Connecticut. An extension of Connecticut's Metacomet Trail

Traversing the Metacomet Ridge of the Pioneer Valley region of Massachusetts and the central uplands of Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Although less than 70 miles (110 km) from Boston and other large population centers, the trail is considered remarkably rural and scenic and includes many areas of unique ecologic, historic, and geologic interest. Notable features include waterfalls, dramatic cliff faces, exposed mountain summits, woodlands, swamps, lakes, river flood plain, farmland, significant historic sites (a castle), and the summits of Mount Monadnock, Mount Tom and Mount Holyoke.

if your looking for an amazing week long hike, this is it.

and if your looking for more of a challenge, continue north from Mount Monadnock 50 miles north along the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway trail to Mount Sunapee, another amazing hike.

Directions:

for the various trailheads if you want to break the trek up into sections

if you are to do the entire thing, I recommend starting south and head north for some breathtaking views of Western Mass. and New Hampshire while pushing your limits.
