The original trail to the top of Adams. This is a very well maintained trail with optional cabins along the way, beautiful views and a stunning alpine zone. Bring sunscreen and a windproof jacket because you'll be exposed at the top for quite a while and the wind and weather can be harsh and unpredictable even on beautiful days.
The path starts of gradual, long and flat, and then gets steep flirting with difficult once you get past the Log Cabin. Gray Knob is an excellent warm stop in winters and great overnight for people taking the ridge trail across multiple trails.
US Highway 2- south side 5.05 miles east of Junction 2 and 115. Park at the Lowes market, cross the highway (diagonally to the right) to the trailhead.
