Many trails are located here in Penwood State Forest on the Simsbury/Bloomfield line. Great singletrack for mountain biking, with varying terrain and difficulty levels, but most are capable of being done with a hardtail; full suspension welcomed but not necessary. Plenty of trails for hiking and biking, less populated than Talcott mountain across the street, but equally stunning views of the Farmington Valley and north toward Granby and Sothwick, especially during the fall foliage season.

Directions:

Directly off Route 185. Fromm Simsbury, follow RT 185 over the green brdge past Folly Farm, go up the hill, past Talcott Mountain State Park, and Penwood will be just past it on the left.

From Bloomfield, follow past Wade's Farm Stand, up the hill, past the flashing yellow light, and the parking area will be just past the light on the right.
