Sourland Mountain Preserve in Hillsboruogh NJ is nestled amongst the hustle of Sommerset county. It has many trails that cris-cross each other that are all moderatley strenuous. The blue dot trail (from the feild next to the parking lot) ascends two or three steps and will lead hikers to the boulder feilds. There are two distinct boulder feilds here. The first a hiker will hit a left leading trail about 5-8 minutes into the hike. If you take this trail and can't find the boulders you are either in the wrong place, or you shouldn't be climbing. The second is also a left leading trail about 15 minutes in. Depending on the time of year the boulders may or may not be visible from the trail. The climbing is moderate with a few easy, and a few not so easy problems. Bring a spotter and a pad (or two) as some of the landings are bad, and a lot of the cruxes are top-outs. Be safe
From the sommerville circle:
Take rt 206 south to amwell rd in hillsborough. Make a right, and travel apr. 2 miles (very approxamite) to East Mountain rd. Make a left. The Sourlands parking lot is on the right apr 2 miles up marked by two rocks. The parking lot is somewhat hard to see, so if you make a hard left hand bend you've gone to far.
