After putting in near Edwards boatyard, head south down Childs River. Make a sharp left around the point and continue north up the Seapit River and turn right and follow the coastline of Washburn Island on your right. Follow the coastline all around the bay, taking little side trips into Sage Lot pond and circling around Seaconsett Island. Continue back around the bay, following the Seapit and Childs river back to the boatyard. There is camping available on Washburn Island from Memorial Day through Labor Day. There are 11 campsites all together and you will need to have a permit to camp here! Contact the Reserve Headquarters (508-457-0495 or www.waquoitbayreserve.org/camp.htm) for more info.

Directions:

From the Sagamore Bridge, proceed toward Hyannis on MA 6 to Exit 2 - MA 130. Follow MA 130 toward Mashpee for 7.2 miles and bear right onto Great Neck Rd. just after the Flume Restaurant. Continue to the Mashpee rotary. Halfway around the rotary, take MA 28 toward Falmouth. The Reserve HQ is located on the left 3.5 miles after the rotary; Whites Landing in .4 miles beyond the HQ on the left, just west of Edwards Boatyard.
