This is a great trail for a good hiker who has only half a day to spend outdoors, but still wants to reach the summit. It is a narrow path and rocky, but the surrounding terrain has wonderful sights, sounds, and smells. The last 0.7 miles connect to the AT to reach the summit at 3,491 feet! The top has a spectacular view of the Berkshires and if you reach it on a clear day you might just get lucky to see an airplane pilot perform some tricks.
Be sure to visit "Suggested Hikes" under Maps and Brochures on the DCR website of Mount Greylock State Reservation for more details on this trail.
