The KAB trail winds along the West branch of the Westfield River. Along the way you will see numerous

"Keystone" arch bridges hand made from local Chester blue granite. This is a fascinating, well marked and

well kept trail that offers views in the winter, great river kayaking/canoeing and amazing geologic

wonders. Only one of the bridges is still actively used by the railroad but the rest are easily viewed from

the path. Be sure to follow the path to the very last one upstream (stunningly beautiful)!

Directions:

Take Route 20 to Middlefield Road in downtown Chester, MA. Go 2.5 miles up the road and look for the

trailhead on your left (KAB kiosk and small parking area)
