Zion National Park’s Kolob Canyons has some fantastic scenery. The hike we did is the short and easy Timber Creek Overlook; the scenery here is stunning. Also this portion of the park sees a fraction of the tourists and it is possible to enjoy many of the viewpoints alone. Total time for this hike is about 30 minutes round trip and it is roughly 2 kms long.
Pick up the trail at the parking lot and make your way along the ridge until you can go no more. There is a bit of elevation gain and some walking on sandstone but it shouldn’t be an issue.
Make your way to the Zion National Park’s Northwest entrance, Kolob Canyon. From the visitor follow the road all the way to the end and park. Access to the park in winter may be an issue due to snow and ice on the steep road.
