Have you seen the shed lately? The Delta Watershed is a great area for Vancouver area mountain bikers to build skills but it also has some great log and ladder ride areas in it's own right, and an awesome chute down to the main trail-way full of lifts and berms. Fairly flat, but, lots of nuggets in there, a great place to work on skills. With places like the Gravity Bowl, and, some new giant ladders and drops onto trannies, you should have a new look at the Watershed. In one area, a triple teeter-totter followed by a long ladder ride. Gap jumps here and there.

While you are out there, fill your water bottles at the Artesian well, with water as pure as that stuff from the French Alps.

The Delta Watershed area is self-contained; you are not likely to get lost. In one of the pics here you see a Scouts camp which is ideal to practice manuals and drops. From there, head up and around to some almost hidden nuggets of logs and ladders. One of the photos here are of local trail-builders Mike and Dave. While they are not yet as formal as NSMBA, they are a dedicated group, and, if you ride there often, you will meet them, ask what you can do to help. While much of the watershed has been gravelled over, these are just the main trails, you need to look for the good log rides, of which there are many.

To get to the area from Vancouver, take Highway 99 South to Highway 10, following for a short distance until you cross 91 and start climbing a small hill, park anywhere around there, and take the main long and narrow trail (gravel road) in, then climb up to the trails. You'll find a meadow area with a map to look at, we'll post that next. Lots to explore.

There are trails for every level in this park.
Even though I don't ride, I'm in awe of the hard work of the dedicated bikers that maintain the ladders, jumps etc. Good job!! An excellent hike on the main trails and even better on the side (bike) trails.
Downside Hikers must be watching for bikes at all times. There is a potential for accidents, but if everyone stays aware and vigilant, the trails can easily be shared.
There seem to be a lot of irresponsible dog owners. Please scoop your dog's poop!! (or at the very least take a stick and push it off the trails....)
Comment It's in my hood, and I love to run/walk the bike trails. I'm glad I discovered this park, and look forward to spending more time there...
By Carrot-TopPosted By: Carrot-Top  - Wed Jul 01 00:21:52 UTC 2009 Not Rated Upside Plenty of Jumps and Ladders. Something for everybody Downside Some trails in rough shape Comment They have recently repaired and added some new jumps bridges and berms to some of the trails and there is a new, very technical trail hidden in a ravine to the right of the fire pit

Dries up quickly after rain.
Downside The parking lot at the school which is supposed to be open is almost always locked, sorry neighbours! Comment The best map of the Watershed I've seen is here:
http://www.corp.delta.bc.ca/assets/Parks~Recreation~and~Culture/PDF/watershed_trailmap.pdf
It is missing some of the singletrack though.

PS the city location needs to be changed from Vancouver to Delta or North Delta if any of the Trailpeak Webmasters are reading this.
By E.T.Posted By: E.T.  - Wed May 11 01:31:11 UTC 2005 Not Rated Upside Great place to learn - still fun to zip around, peer down gravity bowl, and try few jumps left. Downside Terrible that they've (city?) taken everything down, and continue to do so.
By Treps1Posted By: Treps1  - Mon Jun 07 05:00:50 UTC 2004 Not Rated Upside Easy access to the trails I guess... Downside Way too many chopped down stunts which hopefully will improve this summer. Also whoever maintains the trails has sings that say not to ride on closed trails which is where most of if any stunts are at. Comment Anybody got a good map of the watershed email it to me Treps10@hotmail.com
By connerPosted By: conner  - Sat Feb 28 07:19:52 UTC 2004 Not Rated Upside no more upside :( Downside downside is one of my buddies broke his collar bone on the ffrankenstien drop and now the city has torn and cut up all jumps and trials....it sucks Comment city cant stop us we will rebuild

Main trails are being covered over with gravel......watch out for old people strolling with their dogs! Watch out for horse poo! Comment Awesome for riding if your alone...safe, contained, lots of people around....perfect for skinnies and practicing! Thank you to the builders of the Shed....you guys ROCK!
