Paddle from Kelowna to Rattlesnake Island on Lake Okanagan.
Go past huge lake-side mansions on the way. You can camp on the island amongst the concrete ruins of a crazy golf course. The protected landing is on the South West of the island.
There are also some native pictographs on a cliff above a cove (Commando Bay) a short paddle to the South of the island.
We started from Gyro Beach in Kelowna - where you can rent kayaks or canoes from Barry and Kelly in the rental shack - but you might be better off starting further South if you can. Bertram Creek Park is a pretty good place to start from or to stop for lunch and a rest if you start further North.
Gyro Beach and Rotary Beach are easy to find on Lakeshore Road, South of Pandosy. Bertram Creek Regional Park is also on Lakeshore Road, but much further South.
