A pleasant hike by the Larch Valley. Then the rise to the Sentinal Pass. From there a good view of the surrounding mountains. The descent to the Paradise Valley is very much strenuous and rough. It is badly marked. The way by the Paradise Valley is very nice again.

CommentI've done this trail twice, once from each end (Moraine Lake Parking Lot, Paradise Valley Parking Lot). Because of my acrophobia I was never able to make it over Sentinal Pass and therefore connect the two trips. Owell... It is still possibly my favourite hike on this planet. The scenary varies from wooded switchbacks to the breathtaking valleys to subalpine meadows overflowing with alpine flowers and still-thawing lakes. You can hear the snow breaking down in distant mountains and the cascading music of waterfalls hidden from sight. Take a break on a sunny rocky slope and you are guaranteed to be joined by families of friendly marmots. This trail is truly heaven on earth.
