The larger 8km loop is a fantastic trail around Hardy Lake. You'll experience a beautiful shoreline with tall trees and Muskoka rock. At about 5km in, there are two bridges connected by an island that make a perfect picnic and picture spot.
A shorter 3km loop is also an option. It hugs the shoreline on one side of the lake, offering great views of the lake as well as a fun forest hike. Both loops are fantastic all year long: The foliage and wildlife are gorgeous for a warm season hike, and the fresh snow and ice covered lake make for a perfect snowshoe.
From Gravenhurst, go west on 169 toward Bala. Watch for signs - Hardy Lake Provincial Park is on the right just before Torrance.
